Introduction
Agriculture, including ornamental horticulture is continuously changing and asking for new improved varieties
that meet all the modern requirements. Creating these new varieties is a costly and time consuming business.
AGRIOM offers help. Since 1988 AGRIOM has been specialising in the development of new varieties in several ornamental
crops and recently (since 2005) also in edible crops (hot pepper and baby leaf salads) and biodiesel crops (Jatropha).
AGRIOM is one of the few Dutch consultancy bureaus in plant breeding. Our supervision on breeding projects can vary from
consultative to complete design and implementation of a breeding project. Examples of projects can be found under
links. Furthermore, AGRIOM carries out research related to plant breeding such as: germination
of seeds, mutagenesis, component analysis, ploidy analysis, resistance, in vitro preservation and literature survey.
In order to do their breeding work AGRIOM has 7000 m2 greenhouse.
